Regretting Rand Paul?

The big story over the last couple of days has been Rand Paul and his radical beliefs, including his criticism of the Civil Rights Act.  Huff Post: “Paul told Maddow that he agrees with most parts of the Civil Rights Act, except for one (Title II), that made it a crime for private businesses to discriminate against customers on the basis of race.” This matches his 2002 statement that “a free society will abide unofficial, private discrimination, even when that means allowing hate-filled groups to exclude people based on the color of their skin.”  He now says, however, that he would have voted for the Act and would not push to repeal it.  It is unclear if Paul realizes that this is not something subject to debate in the 21st century unless you are part of a radical fringe group.
