Jennifer Butler:  “I’ve yet to see a defense of the 2012 Republican budget that morally justifies balancing the budget on the backs of poor and vulnerable families while asking for no sacrifice from wealthy and powerful interests. What is the answer to the charge that it is dishonest to invoke “shared sacrifice” while refusing to modestly increase taxes for the richest Americans (whose wealth has skyrocketed and tax burden has plummeted in recent years) and claiming we cannot afford to feed hungry children or guarantee health care for seniors and the disabled?”
